Social co-responsibility: A far-reaching proposal for improving education

Abstract

The purpose of this essay is to approach the educational phenomenon under a model of participation and shared responsibility among the members of the educational community, that is, to work beyond the limits of the classroom and the teacher-student relationship. To this end, it analyzes emerging educational proposals, such as service-learning and intercultural education, and shows the importance of coordinated work among different sectors. This coordination is proposed as an alternative for carrying out work that responds to the complex and changing needs of social reality, through a different organization of education across its various types and levels.
